In 2005, Ray Marquez faced a life-changing challenge when he severely injured his shoulder while working for a major shipping company. His doctor’s prognosis was grim, suggesting that even after surgery, he might be permanently disabled and unable to work. However, Ray refused to accept this outcome. Determined to rehabilitate physically, he also decided to shift his professional direction. "I decided to get my Real Estate License and enter the real estate business. But upon entering, I experienced a reality check regarding how hard you have to work to be successful."
As a Danville resident with no initial contacts, Ray's journey in real estate began from scratch. Through sheer hard work and determination, he flourished in the industry, earning the Rookie of the Year award in 2008 from the BayEast Association of Realtors.
Specializing in the Bay Area, including Danville and Blackhawk, Ray has built a reputation for working with investors to acquire properties with great returns and helping homeowners upgrade to larger homes to suit their growing family needs.
Ray's dedication extends to helping clients during tough times. "I have numerous examples of clients who were facing foreclosure in the 2008 market until I intervened, postponed the sale, and got the short sale approved by their bank.
I not only helped save their credit but, in many cases, also secured money back from the bank for them."
Living by traditional values of trust, integrity, honesty, and ethics, Ray believes in a win-win philosophy for all parties in a transaction. He embodies hard work and continuous professional development, holding certifications as a Short-Sale Specialist, GRI, E-Pro, and becoming a Broker in 2012. In 2013, he became the Managing Broker for eXp Realty, significantly contributing to the company's growth in California. In 2018, Ray shifted his focus to his own investing and real estate development projects, including property management, real estate flips, and adding ADUs (Additional Dwelling Units) to maximize property value.
Ray is also skilled in navigating probate transactions, ensuring smooth processes for his clients. Committed to professional growth, he invests in business coaching and seminars, holding a broker license in Arizona and maintaining numerous contacts to serve clients in both states. With three daughters and a son, Ray’s motivation to succeed is strong, and his clients benefit from his unwavering drive and expertise.
